dc.descriptionCuatro décadas después de la Guerra de Malvinas, en el siguiente artículo se repasan las dimensiones geopolíticas del mismo, la errónea lectura internacional de la Junta Militar argentina y la posición del gobierno estadounidense encabezado por Reagan, quien priorizó su alianza con la primera ministra británica. La experiencia de la infructuosa apelación al TIAR en 1982 muestra que, para la Argentina, es necesario confluir con los países latinoamericanos y caribeños, además de otros actores del llamado Sur Global, para forzar al Reino Unido, a cumplir con las resoluciones de Naciones Unidas, que instan retomar las negociaciones bilaterales por la soberanía de las islas, para terminar con uno de los últimos enclaves coloniales que persisten en el siglo XXI.
dc.descriptionFour decades after the Malvinas War, the following article reviews its geopolitical dimensions, the incorrect international reading of the Argentine Military Junta and the position of the US government headed by Reagan, who prioritized its alliance with the British Prime Minister. The experience of the unsuccessful appeal to the Rio Pact in 1982 shows that, for Argentina, it is necessary to come together with the Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as other actors from the so-called Global South, to force the United Kingdom to comply with United Nations resolutions, which urge the resumption of bilateral negotiations for the sovereignty of the islands, to end one of the last colonial enclaves that persist in the 21st century.
